Jobs & Workers: Putting Local Families First

Every worker deserves respect, opportunity, and security. Yet too often, politicians make decisions that threaten entire industries and put local livelihoods at risk—all to satisfy private interest groups. When leaders gamble with jobs, they gamble with families, small businesses, and the stability of our entire county. Ray Daly believes it’s time for leadership that always puts workers before politics.

The Threats to Local Jobs

Current policies jeopardize thousands of jobs, including the more than 30,000 workers tied to the fishing industry. These are not abstract numbers—they are real people with mortgages, car payments, and children to feed. Cuts driven by special interests don’t just impact individual workers, they ripple through our economy. When industries are weakened, restaurants lose customers, shops lose sales, and communities lose stability.

Now, proposals like HB 765 endanger job stability even further. By stripping local governments of the power to regulate development standards or design requirements, the bill could enable unchecked development by big developers that undermines local businesses. Local shops and trades that depend on quality infrastructure and thoughtful planning could lose out. SB 314 adds risk by removing extraterritorial jurisdiction, which might allow poorly planned development just outside city limits, burdening regional resources and reducing the viability of local enterprise.

Ray Daly’s Commitment to Workers

Ray Daly believes that strong communities are built on strong jobs. He is committed to protecting industries that sustain local families from harmful cuts. He will push for new opportunities that allow businesses to grow while ensuring that the benefits reach workers, not just shareholders. And he will stand firmly against special interests that value profit over people.

Ray opposes both HB 765 and SB 314 because they threaten local decision-making, transparency, and accountability—values that matter to working people. He believes policies should come from communities, not from distant mandates.

Building Opportunity for the Next Generation

Our county deserves a senator who won’t gamble with livelihoods. Ray Daly is committed to defending workers, creating opportunities, and ensuring that economic growth empowers the people who call this county home. With his leadership, we can strengthen industries, protect workers, and build a brighter economic future—one where local standards, local oversight, and local voices are respected.

Vote Ray Daly and stand for jobs, workers, and families.
